We have even more emotional farewells than usual this year! The children that are making the big transition to school this year are families that joined us when we very first opened Astbury Lane in June 2016, and have a special place within our hearts. We have watched the children arrive to us as young babies and toddlers and thrive from our nurturing care, support and encouragement to become the true superstars that they are today.
Our celebration day at Astbury Lane this year was based on a theme that was of interest to the children which was “The Greatest Showman”. The sun was shining, and the scene was set for “show time”. The families arrived thick and fast and the children couldn’t wait to get through the doors to see the range of activities provided for them and to use the props and crafts that they had been busy creating over the coming weeks.
The nursery was decorated in bright balloons, bunting, pictures, and face painting, and a very proud staff team held back their emotions as they prepared to bid the children farewell.
The time came for the children to receive their certificates and memorable pictures during a presentation from their room supervisor Courteney. There really wasn’t a dry eye in the room with families and staff being extremely proud of the journey the children had taken and expressing their excitement for the next stage in their life.
It really was a truly fitting send off all round for a team that clearly showed how proud they were of the journey the children have been on and the strong relationships that have been made between nursery and home. A big thank you to everyone that came and made the celebrations so special and we are excited to hear about everyone’s first day at school.
